Shane Walker received his Ph.D. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EWRE) at the University of Texas at Austin in May, 2010. He also has the BSCE in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University and an MSE in EWRE from the University of Texas at Austin. His background is in Civil Engineering and Environmental and Water Resources Engineering.
Dr. Walker's research is focused on sustainable water and wastewater treatment - especially inland brackish groundwater desalination. Previous research investigated the performance of electrodialysis for treating inland Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) concentrate. Dr. Walker's current research focuses on improving technical, environmental, social, financial, and political sustainability of water and wastewater treatment.
